Light Moves Festival, Limerick’s unique celebration of dance, film, sound and new media, returns for its 8th edition from 6 – 8 November 2025, presenting an ambitious programme of screenings, performances, installations, talks and workshops by leading Irish and international artists.
Curated by Jessie Keenan and Laura Murphy, this year’s festival showcases works that explore the moving body across diverse worlds, from mountains and icebergs to city streets and intimate spaces. With work by artists from across five continents, the 2025 programme promises bold creativity and rich global perspectives.
Festival highlights include two major events focused on Palestine, newly commissioned multidisciplinary performances, and participatory experiences such as a sound bath and intimate “hand duets” exploring movement, empathy and connection.
Light Moves 2025 officially launched on Tuesday 16 September at 6pm at Dance Limerick, with guest speaker Pádraic E. Moore, Artistic Director of Ormston House. The evening also featured special performances by artists Maïa Nunes and Billy Kemp, offering audiences a taste of what’s to come this November.
