Mary Wycherley is a dance professional with over 20 years of experience as a dance artist, artistic director and educator. Her dance career has been marked out by her focus on collaboration, community and interdisciplinarity, delivering works and artistic programmes that have engaged nationally and internationally. Her dedication to enhancing the scope and vitality of dance in Ireland is marked in particular by her activities in the Mid-West where she lives.
When Wycherley assumes her role in April, she will lead the artistic vision for Dance Limerick – developing, curating and producing an innovative and inspirational artistic programme that includes public performances, artist development and training schemes.
Dance Limerick celebrates its 10 anniversary this October and Wycherley is excited to lead the company into its next phase of contemporary dance creation in Limerick. “It will be my great pleasure to shape Dance Limerick’s future together with the community and the dedicated team, chairperson, and board”, she expressed. “Limerick has been a cornerstone of dance in Ireland with a vibrant and vital community of independent practitioners, adventurous audiences and dance enthusiasts. Continuing Limerick’s incredible legacy in dance is an immense honour.
