Associate Artist 2021/2022

Dance Limerick and the Irish World Academy of Music & Dance at University of Limerick are thrilled to announce our incoming Associate Artist for 2021/2022 is Siobhán Ní Dhuinnín.

Siobhán Ní Dhuinnín is a dance artist based in Cork, Ireland. Her primary focus is on place-based and site-specific work manifesting in film and live performance. She seeks to question how the human body engages with the Earth in a way that gives agency to both.

Siobhán enjoys collaborative and multi-disciplinary work and has created alongside poets, actors, singers, geologists, boat-builders and musicians. She has also worked with a range of community groups with a special focus on primary school aged children. She was Dance Artist in Residence, Ionad Cultúrtha, Baile Mhúirne Co Chorcaí 2018-2020 funded by Arts Council, Cork County Council, Ealaín na Gaeltachta and kindly supported by Ionad Cultúrtha. She is a recipient of the Arts Council’s Next Generation Award (2018).

She says about the role ‘I’m delighted to be Associate Artist with Dance Limerick and the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance at the University of Limerick. Both Dance Limerick and the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance have contributed significantly to my development as an artist throughout the years. I look forward to continuing to build my relationships with them and the people they engage with.’
