These classes/workshops offer a unique opportunity to question the place of dance as a human being, outside the context of technique, style, performance or social needs. It is facilitated by Galway Dance Artist in Residence, Magdalena Hylak, who is known nationally for her work with John Scott | Irish Modern Dance Theatre, and internationally with Compagnie Nacera Belaza (FR), with over 170 performances in 64 venues across 12 countries.
This class is a part of her National Dance Residency Partnership 2023 residency at Dance Limerick, where Magdalena is working on her personal projects with the associated composer Lionel Kasparian. For this occasion, his experimental work will allow the breaking down of traditional musical boundaries with the aim of liberating the movement from the questions of style.
Fridays 19 & 26 January | 12 – 1.30 pm
