No matter your age, abilities or experience, you are invited to join our DL Bridge intergenerational performance project.
Dance Limerick has partnered with Age & Opportunity to develop a performance piece for Bealtaine Festival 2023. Bursting with joy, this new dance performance project invites all ages to come together and learn how to support one another and collaborate using care, connection, and teamwork. DL Bridge artist Katy Hewison and dancer Alice Gavigan will lead a diverse group of members of the broader Limerick community in a collaborative creative process exploring memories and interdependence.
This process will result in a choreography that will be presented at Dance Limerick during the Bealtaine festival week.
Rehearsal dates are Sat 1, 15, 29 April & 6 May
Performance date is Sat 13 May | 2pm
Participation in this project is free
50% of proceeds from the performance will go to Age & Opportunity, a nation-wide charity working towards the betterment of the quality of life for us all as we age.

DL.BRIDGE is a programme which provides new pathways for individuals and communities to engage with dance and fosters opportunities for people to develop art that is relevant to their lives and environment. Katy Hewison began her role as DL. BRIDGE Artist in August 2022, moving from Yorkshire (UK) where she pioneered Improplay – an innovative research, workshop and performance project exploring improvisation and learning with young children, artists and educators. Her work uses contemporary dance to co-create with communities and has been programmed at festivals in UK, Italy and Germany. Katy is enjoying sharing dance with communities in Limerick and is excited to create this new performance piece for Bealtaine Festival!
