Beginners Hip Hop

Dance Limerick is starting a new intergenerational beginners Street Dance class this winter. This seven-week course will focus on the foundations, technique and body conditioning necessary for Street Dance. We will also get to know the history of Breaking (Breakdance) & Hip-hop Freestyle.

The aim of these classes is to promote fun and fitness, deepen participants’ understanding of Street Dance terminology and culture and provide a sense of community. Our teachers Tobi Omoteso and Tara Bredemeier will help you gain an understanding into the world of performance, cyphers and battles and there will be an opportunity for those who wish to develop this aspect of the culture and showcase their work.

These classes are open to all skill levels and abilities. No previous dance experience is required; simply come as you are.

(Underage participants’ parents/guardians will be asked to stay in the foyer while class is taking place).

Tuesdays 13, 20, 27 January; 3, 17, 24 February and 3 March – 7.30 to 8.30 pm
