What Next Dance Festival 2021 was a week-long feast of performance, discussion and participation. This edition took place at a time where we could unfortunately not gather as we normally do, but audiences joined us online, for live streamed
performances, workshops, and a reading group which inspired discussion, reflection and anticipation for live events in the coming autumn.
We welcomed back to Limerick Aliina, Chrissie and Rebecca with new work specially commissioned by Step Up Dance Project. We also welcomed Lisa Fingleton, Prof. Nicholas Rowe, Maria Nilsson Waller and Stace Gill who will stimulatde thoughts and ideas around sustainability of practice, for artists and organisations.
We also shared Rachel Sheil’s Associate Artist commission, and the work of Aerowaves Artists Joy Alpuerto Ritter and Sung Im Her.
