The 3rd edition of What Next Dance Festival brought together dance makers, performers and audiences in a celebration of discovery and possibility. The Festival is an important platform which shines a light on remarkable new talent and creativity both here and abroad. It enables festival artists and their collaborators, to connect with local audiences and provides a social space for interaction and creative exchange.
In 2020, we worked with Lisa McLoughlin who curated a panel of speakers and inputs to help us develop a Dance Climate Manifesto. We also wlecomed both long time locals and Limerick’s new communities to participate in the Festival and to perform as part of our world Céilí Afro Dabke in a celebration of dance forms from Ireland, Palestine and Africa.
Audiences, festival artists, performers and speakers all contributed to the ambition and spirit of the festival.
