Dance Limerick

Open Call for professional dance artists. Closing date 20 November 2013.

Professional dance artists and ensembles are invited to submit proposals for projects to be researched and/or developed at the studio, or the performance space, depending on the nature of the project. Residencies are open to dance artists in all genres and may last between one and four weeks. We are particularly interested to hear from artists wishing to work collaboratively as part of their practice and artists wishing to develop new work to premiere at Dance Limerick.

Visiting artists are encouraged to interact with local artists by providing a weekly class for the local professional community and through informal presentation of work on the culmination of the residency.

As part of the residency Dance Limerick can supply
Studio Space
Performance Space for one performance
Technical Assistance for performance
A contribution to travel costs
Accommodation in apartments and/or artist friendly houses for up to 4 Artists
A small contribution toward production costs

Both studio and performance spaces are fully accessible to wheelchair users.

Proposals will be assessed by a panel on the basis of the quality of the proposal and the available budget.

Dance Limerick exists to support the development of professional dance artists within the Limerick region and beyond.

Through a combination of performance platforms, residency opportunities, master classes, talks and lectures, Dance Limerick will advocate for artistic dialogue and exchange. In collaboration with dance artists across a range of practices, Dance Limerick will promote the creation of new and innovative work and will devise programmes of access, engagement and participation for the wider public.

Based at the premises of the former Daghdha Dance Company, Dance Limerick houses offices and a fully equipped studio space along with a separate performance venue known as the Daghda Space
