The current term is now underway, drop-in class rates available. If you would like to join the entire term at a discounted rate, please email info@dancelimerick.ie. Recordings of classes you missed are available. 

This class is an introduction to the world of ballet. You will learn ballet positions and patterns, and gain knowledge around popular ballet styles. 

The class promotes fitness, good posture, balance, flexibility and coordination. 

About Teacher Laura Macken: Laura Macken trained at The Irish National College of Dance and joined Dublin City Ballet as a student member at the age of 15. Dancing with the company for several years Laura danced corps de ballet and solo roles in ballets such as Coppelia, The Nutcracker, Les Sylphides, Pas de Quatre, and Gisele. Laura teaches company classes and has worked as rehearsal director for John Scott Dance, she has assisted with John’s work on Step Up dance project in 2013 and 2018, as well as his work with students at the University of Limerick.

Important Information

These online classes take place live on Zoom with the option of watching a recording of the class if you missed it.

​You will receive an email at least 1 hour before the class starts, with details of how to access the online class including the Zoom link. If you do not receive an email, please contact emer@dancelimerick.ie.

​You Will Need

- A device with access to the internet and audio, placed on a table/chair at eye level. We recommend a laptop or computer if possible as it means you will see the other participants as well as the teacher. - A clear space to move in, free of movable furniture and all other hard objects
- The best floor surfaces are carpet, lino or wood, dancing on ceramic kitchen tiles or concrete is to be avoided please! 
- Comfortable Clothes you can move in

Dance Limerick exists to support the development of professional dance artists within the Limerick region and beyond.

In collaboration with dance artists across a range of practices, Dance Limerick will promote the creation of new and innovative work and will devise programmes of access, engagement and participation for the wider public.

Based at the premises of the former Daghdha Dance Company, Dance Limerick houses offices and a fully equipped studio space along with a separate performance venue known as the Daghda Space
