The first public performance of a new work in progress created under the Step-Up: Dance Project 2014 takes place at Dance Limerick on Friday 8th August at 7.30pm.
This work has been choreographed by Michael Keegan-Dolan, with dancers on the Step Up programme and members of Fabulous Beast Dance Theatre.

Step Up: Dance Project 2014 has been running at the Irish World Academy, University of Limerick since 7th July and provides a unique opportunity for some of Ireland’s most promising contemporary dance graduates to create new work under the direction of Michael Keegan-Dolan.
Dancers featured in this prestigious programme for 2014 are Ailish Maher (Ire), Aifric Ni Chaoimh (Ire), Marion Cronin (Ire), Magda Herzak (Ire/ Pol), Juan Urbina (Ven/ Ire), Adam Faillul (Mal/Ire) and Murni Omar (Mal/ Ire).
Performances of this new work in progress will also take place at:
– the Firkin Crane in Cork, 9th August, 6pm
– DanceHouse in Dublin, 11th August, 6pm
Step Up: Dance Project, is a partnership between the Arts Council, Dance Ireland, Dance Limerick and the University of Limerick, which aims to bridge the gap between dance education and professional contemporary dance practice in Ireland.
It is an annual, intensive programme of training, rehearsals, performance and development for selected dancers who have completed their professional training within the last three years. The Step Up programme enhances these dancers’ professional networks by connecting them to the Irish contemporary dance community and improving their professional opportunities in Ireland.
