We’re thrilled to report that our first dance symposium, Mind in the Flesh: Female Bodies in Contemporary Performance, was a huge success! We were delighted to welcome colleagues, friends and newcomers from the dance sector and beyond to Limerick for three days of stimulating discussion, ideas, thoughts and provocations, as well as some truly stunning performances.

Speaking at the conclusion of Mind in the Flesh, Jenny Traynor, Director of Dance Limerick, said “We were delighted with the quality of the presentations and performances from all of our participants. We were particularly excited to be able to bring leading national and international artists to Limerick for this event and I would like to express our appreciation to our Co-Curator Isabella Oberlander for her work putting the exciting Mind in the Flesh programme together”.
Jenny added “This was also a fantastic opportunity to challenge the Dance Limerick Space and show how incredibly versatile it can be. We are very grateful to Limerick City of Culture, who funded the performance programme of Mind in the Flesh, and to the Arts Council and Limerick City and County Council for their ongoing support”.
