We are delighted to announce that Sketches, the beautiful short film made by members of Limerick Youth Dance last year, has made it to the final of Fresh Film Festival 2017.
Sketches offers an insight into how Limerick Youth Dance creates dance pieces, while also exploring the possibilities of the camera lens. The outcome is based on the individual’s own perception of the art of dance and its meaning.
Sketches was made by Katie Fitzpatrick, Kevin Hussey and Meabh Hartney, led by Angie Smalis and Lucy Dawson.
The final of Fresh Film Festival 2017 takes place at the Omniplex, Castletroy, Limerick on Thursday 30 March.
Through a combination of performance platforms, residency opportunities, master classes, talks and lectures, Dance Limerick will advocate for artistic dialogue and exchange. In collaboration with dance artists across a range of practices, Dance Limerick will promote the creation of new and innovative work and will devise programmes of access, engagement and participation for the wider public.
Based at the premises of the former Daghdha Dance Company, Dance Limerick houses offices and a fully equipped studio space along with a separate performance venue known as the Daghda Space
