Rosie Stebbing in Residence

Rosie Stebbing will be in residence at Dance Limerick as part of the 2024 Percolate Residency Programme.

ROSIE STEBBING is a contemporary dance artist from Kildare. She trained at ArtEZ Institute of the Arts in the Netherlands, and since graduating in 2021 has worked as a dancer with CoisCéim Dance Theatre, Fidget Feet Aerial Dance Theatre, Emily Aoibheann and Peter Power/Sparsile Collective. Her debut choreographic work TEST 1- created with Ornella Dufay-Miralles- premiered at Dublin Fringe Festival in 2022 and was recipient of the Judge’s Choice Award. The work has since been shown at Dance Limerick’s What Next Dance Festival in 2024. Rosie has been supported by awards from the Arts Council of Ireland, Dance Ireland and Dublin City Arts Office, and is currently working on a commissioned piece for the senior ensemble of Dublin Youth Dance Company.

Rosie will use this residency to begin research and development for a new solo work. Inspired by the story of l’Inconnue de la Seine– the drowned young woman pulled from the river Seine in the late 19th century whose face became used as that of the CPR doll Resusci Anne- the work will explore ideas of beauty, death, immortalisation and animate versus inanimate bodies. Rosie will work with composer and musician Louis Younge to develop an original score for the work. The Percolate residency will provide her with an invaluable opportunity to develop her artistic voice as a solo dancer and maker.

Rosie will offer Friday morning class for professionals. More info here.
