Pro class with Angela Lopez

an0th3r.l0p3z (Angela Lopez) is a multi-disciplinary performing artist active throughout Western and Central Western New York. Primarily a dancer, collaborator, and choreographer they extend their practice to include intermedia and multimedia work, immersive installations and performative interventions. Included in their praxis is a focus on the intersection of technology and dance, structured improvisation, generative composition, live music, and devised performance. Costuming, props, drag, installation art, film, experimental music and technology, theater and butoh all play a large part in their co-laboratories. They are presently a recipient of New York State DanceForce’s Choreographer’s Initiative grant (NYSCI) and a current artist in residence as part of Light Moves Festival’s OPEN FUTURES programming which is graciously supported by DanceLimerick. Class will function much like a co-laboratory. Following a brief warmup we will move into improvisational techniques and scores, exploring visual and conceptual ideas which we will then seek to embody.
