Pro class with Alex Vostokova

Compass Associate Artist for 2025, Alex Vostokova, will teach a pro morning class as part of her residency.

Compass Associate Artist for 2025, Alex Vostokova, will be in residence at Dance Limerick together with Jessie Thompson, working on the piece ‘missing you, missing me’, choreographed by Thompson and performed by Vostokova and commissioned by Dance Limerick for What Next Dance Festival.

Alex will also be developing her solo piece Logic of Wrong and Rehearsed Carelessness, alongside Jason McNamara and Risteárd Ó hAodha and featuring live cello accompaniment.

Alex’s dynamic language emphasises expression, character building and narrative exploration. Her current work spills across themes of pressure, harmony, and the intensity of aliveness, inviting audiences into a world where the main character seeks to navigate these dynamics. These will be some of the themes explored in this class.

Additionally, on Friday 21 February, Alex opens the studio to local practicing artists and enthusiasts for an Open Studio Afternoon. This session prioritises discussion, sharing, and jamming, creating space for community interaction. Free entry. Registration here.

The residency culminates with a Work-in-progress sharing on Thursday 6 March, offering a glimpse into the evolving piece. Free entry. Registration here
