A Sensory Journey through movement, drawing & audio stories – Relaxed Performance
Performances taking place on Thursday 21 November at Dance Limerick are suitable for …
We are pleased to announce the performance dates for Step Up 2024.
Of the People by Catherine Young is a dance experience that resonates deeply with our shared human desire for connection, community and a kinder way of living. It reflects on a particular state of the body, where it is always on, always moving, always doing, always productive. The piece looks for alternatives, asking how the body could feel if we slowed down and worked to foster solidarity together. How do we rebuild community?
These ideas came about through conversations with the dancers, who spoke of their experience living in different cities and the differences in how the body feels in those places. Their experience of Limerick is that of a kind and slow-paced, welcoming city, where people have time for each other – it is a city of the people.
Join us as we explore reclaiming our spaces and rebuilding our communities.
Performances on Wednesday 7 and Thursday 8 August at 7.30 at Dance Limerick Performance Space.
