Performances taking place on Thursday 21 November at Dance Limerick are suitable for …
Dance Limerick are partnering with Limerick City and County Council this year to showcase and share international dance in Limerick.
Join us for an afternoon of dance from a selection of different communities on Saturday 2 December 2 – 4 pm at Dance Limerick Performance Space.
At Dance Limerick, we pride ourselves in being a hub of creativity, a space where artists, individuals and communities find and develop their passion for dance. This year, we have partnered with the Limerick City and County Council, who have kindly offered their support to organise a multicultural Christmas event that embodies the spirit of community, sharing and joy that Dance Limerick represents.
We have invited six artists to share different traditional dance styles that represent some of the diverse cultures that make up our city.
Dance artist Kexin Huang will perform different excerpts of Classical Chinese dance, followed by Kateryna Zapara, who will share aspects of traditional Ukrainian dance and invite the audience to join in.
Dance artist Apoorva Bhatt is a trained Indian classical dancer who will perform excepts of different traditional styles. Itzel Limón, a Mexican-born dancer based in Ireland, will bring in the audience into a joyful celebration of traditional Mexican dance styles, followed by Aoife McGarry, who will be performing an Irish Step Dance routine. Finally, Palestinian-born dance artist Amir Sabra will round off the event with a mixture of traditional dabke and his own dance style for all to join in..
