Integrated Dance training with Rhona Coughlan

A opportunity to share, learn, experience and meet dance artists with/without additional needs.

We welcome dance artists with and without disabilities to come together to celebrate their own unique dance bodies. It’s a celebration of uniqueness, individuality, and being your authentic self through dance. We will work in a relaxed environment to learn new skills, adapt dance techniques to our own bodies, exchange ideas, and dance together. This workshop will both develop the practice of each individual while also fostering a creative, supportive inclusive dance environment.

RHONA COUGHLAN is an independent dance artist and is the current Artistic Director of Inclusive Dance Cork. At the age of 18, Rhona set up the first inclusive dance company in Ireland called “Wheels in Motion,” which performed from 1994-1996. In 2006, Rhona co-founded the second inclusive dance company in Ireland, Croí Glan, and she performed with this company until 2010. From 2010-2012, Rhona went on to work with Spoken Dance in Limerick. She has also worked with various other inclusive dance companies in the United States. Currently, Rhona is the Artistic Director of Inclusive Dance Cork and has also finished a residency with Dance Ireland with Cindy Cummings to develop a solo work. She has also just returned from the Axis Dance Company Summer Intensive in the United States.
