The evening events will include:
6 – 7 pm Watch & Experience
Join us in a relaxed performance space to watch new dance work created with the Limerick community. Being is a performance by an intergenerational group of children, adults and local dance artists, created by Dance Limerick in partnership with Age and Opportunity and Limerick City and County Council for Bealtaine festival. Led artistically by Katy Hewison, this group of all ages explores movement and imagination with live musician Paddy Mulcahy.
7 – 8.30 pm Take part – Dance tasters
All ages are welcome to join us for a series of open dance taster classes. Watch, experience, give it a try!
Local dance artists will share a range of dance styles from Contemporary to Indian classical dance, hip hop and more.
9-11 pm Engage – Top 8 at Dance Limerick
The night will end with a celebration of cultures honouring our differences, but most importantly our similarities in the areas of dance, voice, art and music. The event will showcase all 5 elements of hip hop culture – DJ (Turntablism), MC (Rapping, Singing and Beat Boxing), B-Boying (Breakdance and Street Dance), Graffiti (Street Art murals) and Knowledge.
