Country OK by Siobhán Ní Dhuinnín

Invoking the spirit of dance halls and dancing bodies of past and present, Country OK dance event is a rollicking celebration of live performance, live music and a party that invites you to let loose and join in! Featuring an inter-generational dance cast from across Limerick, joined by professional dancers with a live band. Country OK will have you foot-tapping and hip-twisting to the heart-wrenching songs of country music – and the exhilarating nature of a fleeting moment of dancing together.  

Following the performance will be a dance party, inviting the audience to join in and let loose!

About the artist

Siobhán Ní Dhuinnín is a dance artist based in Cork City with a passion for place-based performance and improvisation. She enjoys a multidisciplinary and collaborative process and has created work with dancers, sean-nós singers, poets, geologists and visual artists. Siobhán often works bi-lingually in Irish and English and her work has been shown nationally and internationally, most recently in Florida, USA. She is a member of Cork Dance Initiative and GIORRIA collectives.

Siobhán is an Arts Council Next Generation Award & Markievicz Award recipient. She was Associate Artist at Dance Limerick and the Irish World Academy, University of Limerick (2021-2022). She often works bi-lingually in Irish and English and was Dance Artist in Residence, Gaeltacht Mhúscraí 2018-2020. She has worked and performed with Joan Davis, Magdalena Hylak, Jessie Keenan, Junk Ensemble, Laura Murphy, Mary Nunan, Fearghus Ó Conchúir and Mary Wycherley.
