Award-winning and independent Iranian dance artist Tanin Torabi works in the realm of performance, choreography, and film. Coming from a sociology background, she holds an MA in Contemporary Dance Performance from the University of Limerick. Torabi’s works have been honored numerously by renowned festivals and academies worldwide.
Tanin will be offering a workshop as part of Light Moves Festival 2023. In this two-day workshop, she invites the participants to get to know her distinct way of approaching events to craft dance films and also prompts them to analyze the creative process through a “problem-solving” lens. The class delves into questions about the limitations that influence our creative endeavours, the nature of these limitations, the artistic concepts that arise from them, and the essential aspects to consider when translating these ideas into practical work.
