This class is part of the first week of Kate Hilder's Percolate Residency at Dance Limerick. Kate and Seke Chimutengwende are spending the week developing their solo and duet improvisation performance practice.
Seke, a dancer, teacher and choreographer based in London, is teaching this class which is open to all adults - no previous experience necessary:
Through guided explorations games and scores we will answer the following questions: What are the choices we can make in terms of space, rhythm and texture in instant composition? Can engaging our senses lead us to material when improvising? How do we create content and structure spontaneously?
Cost of class: €7 or free for studio subscribers (pay on the door).
Through a combination of performance platforms, residency opportunities, master classes, talks and lectures, Dance Limerick will advocate for artistic dialogue and exchange. In collaboration with dance artists across a range of practices, Dance Limerick will promote the creation of new and innovative work and will devise programmes of access, engagement and participation for the wider public.
Based at the premises of the former Daghdha Dance Company, Dance Limerick houses offices and a fully equipped studio space along with a separate performance venue known as the Daghda Space
