The warm up will consist of awareness building exercises creating state of readiness for the body using geometry of movement and basic physical structures in Hip Hop dance.
Class is suitable for intermediate/advanced levels but is open to all interested in Hip Hop. Contemporary dancers are encouraged to attend, as the floorwork aspect of the class will be of particular interest as a complimentary practice.
In main body of the class we will be working on rhythm and understanding of music, isolations, groove, floorwork, social aspect of the culture, party dances and history of hip hop.
Through a combination of performance platforms, residency opportunities, master classes, talks and lectures, Dance Limerick will advocate for artistic dialogue and exchange. In collaboration with dance artists across a range of practices, Dance Limerick will promote the creation of new and innovative work and will devise programmes of access, engagement and participation for the wider public.
Based at the premises of the former Daghdha Dance Company, Dance Limerick houses offices and a fully equipped studio space along with a separate performance venue known as the Daghda Space
