These Contemporary Dance Classes are suitable for both beginners and those with experience in Contemporary Dance. The classes will help develop your creativity and technique through energetic and challenging phrases (sequences) and varied exercises. The aim of these classes is to provide an opportunity for participants to develop the skill and confidence to dance with ease.
Class will begin with light stretching and connecting to the body in space, either through improv or somatic exercises. We will then learn some contemporary exercises to warm up the body and during the last part of class, we will work on learning choreography. This choreography will be to integrate and incorporate techniques learned throughout class. Class will round off with some deeper stretches to finish.
