Catherine Young Dance (CYD) and Dance Limerick are looking for up to eight choreographers/dance artists to partake in a practical, week-long intensive exploring dramaturgical approaches to choreography and dance-making taking place from 2-6 March 2026 at Dance Limerick.
In this pilot dramaturgical programme, Choreographer Catherine Young and Dramaturg Hanna Slattne—long-time collaborators on productions including State of Exception, A Call to You, Floating on a Dead Sea and Ciseach— invite participants into their shared process of shaping movement, ideas, and choreographic decisions based on ongoing dramaturgical reflection.
The week-long intensive offers artists the opportunity to gain insight into how to productively collaborate with a dramaturg and discover new approaches to structuring and developing work.
The programme is open to all Ireland-based professional dance artists and/or choreographers who have created a minimum of two public-facing productions. We welcome dance artists from a diversity of backgrounds, lived experience and dance styles, interested in developing their dramaturgical skills.
Participants will receive a stipend of €750 for the week as well as accommodation for four nights if travelling from more than 30 km from Limerick. To apply, read the full terms & conditions in the document below and fill in this form including a short biography and two samples of your work before Monday the 15th of December at 12 pm IST.
