Spend a summer Sunday in the heart of Limerick city at John's Square
Join Dance Limerick for a free outdoor day of dance, live music, a community picnic and family-friendly activities in John’s Square.
Dance Limerick invites you to Summer Moves 2026, a free outdoor celebration of dance, music and community in John’s Square on Sunday 9 August.
Come along for the full day or drop in whenever suits you. Take part in a morning dance class, bring your lunch for a relaxed picnic with live music, and enjoy an afternoon of dance workshops, informal performances, outdoor games and family-friendly activities.
You do not need any previous dance experience to join in. Whether you are a professional dancer, someone who simply enjoys moving, or a family looking for a fun day out, everyone is welcome.
Event schedule
11 am – Morning Dance Class
An open dance class for professional dancers, movement enthusiasts and members of the wider community. All ages and levels of experience are welcome.
12.30 pm – Picnic in the Square
Bring your lunch, find a spot in John’s Square and enjoy live music in the heart of the city.
2 pm to 4 pm – Dance & Play in John’s Square
Join dance workshops, watch relaxed outdoor performances and enjoy family-friendly activities and games in the square.
The event is free and open to all ages.
Please bring your own picnic, along with a blanket or something comfortable to sit on.
Activities will take place outdoors in John’s Square.
Spaces can be booked in advance to help us plan for attendance, but visitors are also welcome to drop in throughout the day.
