Roberta Ceginskaite in residence

Percolate 2025 artist Roberta Ceginskaite will be in residence at Dance Limerick for a week this November

Roberta Ceginskaite is a Lithuanian dance artist based in Galway city. She started her contemporary dance journey through the short-lived Monaghan Youth Dance Company led by Karla Holden. She then joined the Dublin Youth Dance Company while studying dance at Inchicore College of Further Education. Roberta continued to train in contemporary dance at Fontys Hogeschool voor Kunsten in Tilburg, The Netherlands, graduating with BA in Contemporary Dance. Since coming back to Ireland, she has been supported and worked with Dance Ireland, Dance Limerick and Galway Dance. Her own research has taken her abroad to residencies in Luxembourg, Finland, Switzerland, Croatia, Serbia and Slovakia. Her arts practice encompasses text, video, theatre and visual art. Roberta’s work focuses on collective training of resilience, endurance and empathy. She is an active member of her community through organising dance trainings, dance performance events and community fitness training in Galway city. Together with Fionnuala Doyle Wade, they have created testing ground projects, a platform for their community artistic work. She is also an active member of the local CATU branch and a committee member of PRAXIS artists’ union of Ireland.

During her residency, Roberta will be joined by collaborators Grace Cuny and Aoibhinn O’Dea, allowing them space to improvise, experiment and plant the seeds of new ideas.

This time will also serve to see the extension of the continuous research of Roberta’s project  ‘for the world we’re after, strengthening the ties between these three dance artists in the process.

Roberta will be teaching a professional class on Friday 14 November – read more and book here
