Professional Class with Rachel Sheil

Part of Dance Limerick's Series of Professional Classes curated by Dance Limerick and Irish World Academy of Music and Dance Associate Artist, Siobhán Ní Dhuinnín.

This class will have a focus on connection to self in relationship to space, but also connection to self in relationship to music. Rachel has many inputs in her practice including Hip-Hop, Fighting Monkey Zero Forms, Hanna Somatics and Contemporary Dance. She hopes to offer an insight into how she views movement, allowing class participants to explore via these myriad lenses too.

About Rachel Sheil

Rachel has been teaching, performing and choreographing in Limerick and Ireland since 2010. The themes of freedom, choice, power and play come up consistently in Rachel’s work. She is interested in how dance can empower the performer as well as the audience. Fantasy, anime, cartoons and comics make up a big part of Rachel’s Contemporary dance practice, developing into work that is bizarre, hyper-real and often comedic. She lives in dreams, has a vivid inner life and is eager to bring audiences into this world!
