Professional Class with Isabella Oberländer

Part of Dance Limerick's Series of Professional Classes curated by Dance Limerick and Irish World Academy of Music and Dance Associate Artist, Siobhán Ní Dhuinnín.

In this morning class I will be sharing some of my influences and ways of working with improvisation and choreographic frameworks. – What are you paying attention to whilst moving? – Utilising chi-cultivation, embracing the body as material and listening to our states of dance. Let’s turn up the temperature, attune to our attention and have a wee sweaty dance together to start the day.

About Isabella Oberländer

Isabella Oberländer is a dance artist and choreographer based in Limerick, Ireland. Originally from Austria, she was Associate Artist with Dance Limerick 2019-2021. Isabella’s solo work ’Glisten’ had its live premiere at Dublin Fringe Festival 2021.  Her work engages in choreographic frameworks that embrace the materiality of the body and aim for a visceral articulation of physicality and thought. Working the imagination muscle, engaging with feminist ideas and dancing her heart out are integral parts of her artistic practice. As a dance artist she is always seeking, she is always in motion.
