Imaginaries – a workshop with Dalila Belaza

A movement workshop for music and dance students and practitioners.

Dance artist Dalila Belaza is offering a workshop during her residency at Dance Limerick, where she will explore listening to physical space and making oneself available to the imaginary and to the nature of movement it generates.

Dalila Belaza is the choreographer and artistic director of Hiya Compagny, and associate artist at La Briqueterie CDCN du Val-de-Marne. Her approach, guided by a deep necessity for meaning and elevation, is above all a research process: giving form to the invisible and to inner states of disturbance, immersing both audience and performers in the experience of what resides within them. The deep memories of the body transform intimacy into an entire world to explore.

The workshop is rooted in Belaza’s artistic practice and it is aimed at professional dancers and students working with music and/or dance.

“I search for the intimate, mysterious, and timeless narrative that lies dormant within us.”
