Annekatrin Kiesel in residence
ANNEKATRIN KIESEL studied stage dance at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Cologne and at the Hooger Instituut Voor Dans of the Artesis Hogeschool in Antwerp. In autumn 2023 she graduated with a master’s degree in dance studies from the Freie Universität Berlin. She then relocated to Ireland and now works as a choreographer, performer, teacher and facilitator.
Among others, Anne worked with choreographers Willi Dorner, Liz Erber, Sarah Vella, Alexandra Pirici, Matan Zamir, Dorothea Eitel/company urbanReflects, Carina Otte, Maria Rutanen and Verena Steffen/Company STEVE. she has also worked with Simon Möllendorf at DORFPRODUCT, Frankfurt a.M., with opera director Claus Guth, the walk-in opera Rhythms of Living; in collaboration with FREYAS.connective, of which she is a founding member; Company STEVE; and the Staatsoper Berlin.
Anne leads Tipperary Dance Age in Movement dance workshops for older adults as well as teaching locally in Portlaoise for Laois Dance Academy and Music Generation. Later this year she will choreograph for the Laois Youth Dance Ensemble, offer professional training at Dance Ireland and teach for BA and MA students at the University of Limerick.
