Vertices: The Geometry of Curves
An evening with Limerick Youth Dance & NUBUS
Special Guests: Little Tents | BA Voice & Dance Students, Irish World Academy of Music & Dance at UL
Tuesday 24 March 2015, 8pm
“Vertices: The Geometry of Curves”, an exploration of one simple shape which continually receives information and boundaries, will be performed by Limerick Youth Dance, with live music by NUBUS.
Since January, Limerick Youth Dance members, led by Angie Smalis, have been experimenting and developing movement ideas around the notion of the intrinsically “divine” or “perfect”.
“Vertices: The Geometry of Curves” represents an insight into the young dancers’ explorations.
Composer/Producer NUBUS will interact with the dancers while exploring the concepts of childhood, teenage years/adulthood and elderly age. His original composition will feature a selection of instruments including piano, electric piano, juno, celeste and lush pads.
Special guests Little Tents will open the evening performing their own original songs. This young band was formed through Music Generation, Limerick.
Students from the BA in Voice and Dance at the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance at UL will also present short performances during the evening.
Come and join us for a celebration of young artists in Limerick!
